Poet Music Theater
The dynamic interplay of language and music is at the core of what makes a compelling and moving concert experience. This collaboration explores the power and possibilities that open when artists who emphasize language combine with those who emphasize music and song.
The Poet Music Theater Ensemble is a group of artists who have brought this style of performance to life on the stages of festivals, clubs and coffeehouses. They perform collectively and as individual acts. Members include poet Jena Kirkpartrick and musician Joe Mier (a duo from Austin TX), poet Regie O’Hare Gibson and musician Chris Dotson (Letter and Spirit), poet Timothy Mason and with The Jon Hogan String Band (Jon Hogan and Maria Moss). The full ensemble was recently featured at The Austin International Poetry Festival.
